India Batson learned she was pregnant in January—the very first cycle she ovulated after welcoming her son Arlo nine months ago. She and her husband Daniel began “picturing life with two under two. Loud, chaotic and full of joy.” One week later, an ultrasound revealed the baby had stopped growing.
On February 7, the 31-year-old lifestyle and parenting influencer shared her third pregnancy loss with followers. “No woman should ever leave the hospital without her baby,” she wrote. “We are sad, angry, confused, and heartbroken. The emotions feel endless.”
Despite already being a mother, Batson emphasized the loss was no less devastating. “This baby was deeply loved, cherished, and celebrated. We are grateful for the short time we had with them.” She addressed the child directly: “Until we meet again, our angel baby. I know you are with your two siblings until we arrive.”
In the aftermath, Batson directed her community to resources compiled on her Instagram Stories—local clinics, articles, podcasts—for others navigating pregnancy loss. “You do NOT have to go through this alone,” she wrote. “Your baby mattered, your grief is real and you are seen and loved.”
Her words, raw and unguarded, offered what no medical explanation could: permission to ache openly. Grief does not require novelty to be valid. Some losses echo. Some mothers hold space for children they have never held.
