Teddi Mellencamp is marking one year since doctors discovered “plum-sized” stage 4 tumors on her brain. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 44, initially believed she was suffering from migraines while working the Super Bowl with friend Tamra Judge. Within twenty-four hours of seeking help, she was in surgery.
On February 9, Mellencamp shared a hospital photo on Instagram, electrodes visible on her forehead. “I have a lot of anxiety surrounding today but also a lot of gratitude,” she wrote. She thanked the medical team who cared for her, her family, and the public support that has carried her through.
Her cancer journey began in 2022 with stage 2 melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Seventeen surgeries followed. In April 2025, she revealed the disease had metastasized to her brain and lungs, advancing to stage 4. Doctors initially gave her a fifty-fifty chance of survival.
Today, through ongoing immunotherapy, Mellencamp says she has “no trace of cancer.”
Her post drew an outpouring of support. Kyle Richards called her “an inspiration to SO many.” Captain Sandy Yawn thanked her for sharing “experience strength and hope.”
Mellencamp ended with a message she has repeated since her first diagnosis: “Trust your instincts. Get checked.”
One year ago, she thought she had migraines. Now she has scars, gratitude, and a future she was not guaranteed.
